Prepaid Wireless Phone Plans: Highly Economical, Highly Practical

By

Postpaid plans are famous especially with business people and cell phone addicts. However, not everyone is on the hook with this wireless phone and not all agrees to pay for an expensive monthly bill and be tied with a long-term service contract. This is why some carriers offer a variety of prepaid wireless phone plans to choose from.

A prepaid phone plan is good for those who would like to budget their mobile service usage. It is very practical and economical in a way that you do not have to anticipate an expensive monthly bill and even get into the hassle of submitting a credit check. This is also efficient for a kid’s usage especially because you will be in control of the minutes that they can use. Using prepaid wireless phone plans are easy and just like using a calling card. You purchase minutes and use them until it runs out and then just reload it if you want to use the phone again.

There are a lot of good things a prepaid plan can offer. No contracts, no expensive monthly bills, no commitments, no credit checks, no age limits and of course, no hidden fees. These advantages attract more and more people especially now that a lot of people are experiencing an economical crisis. However, what limit the capabilities of astonishing a lot of mobile phone users are the prepaid plan’s downsides.

One of the biggest downsides of a prepaid plan is that prepaid minutes expire. Most carriers offer 30-90 day expiration and rarely could you find one that offers up to a maximum of 1 year usage. This means that if you have remaining minutes left in your phone but the service is about to expire, you have to reload to extend its usage. If you will not be able to reload, you will lose the minutes left in your account. Another sad thing is that prepaid rates are higher than postpaid rates.

For the user’s convenience, prepaid credits can be bought online, over the phone, or via prepaid cards from local stores or retailers. There are also some carriers who offer plans that will automatically charge credit cards to reload or replenish minutes. You just have to give them the authority to do so.

If you need a prepaid plan, you have to list your needs first and weight them carefully so you will not have any regrets in opting for a prepaid plan. Prepaid wireless phone plans are very appealing for its approach to practicality. Prepaid plans are great for those who only use their phone occasionally but it will eventually become more expensive than postpaid if the user gets hooked with calling or texting. Service providers differ in plans or services offered. Some have specialties like for emergency purposes, for seniors, for teens or kids and for some who can pay the postpaid style. Choosing the best prepaid plan that would work for you depends on your needs and your personality too. The best thing with prepaid plan is if you weren’t satisfied with the service, you can easily detach from it and choose another type of plan or carrier. No bonds, no contracts, no hassle!
